Welcome!

You’ve found the website of Anna Louise Lucia, writer of romantic suspense.
If you like deeply emotional romance, edge-of-the-seat action, physical, overwhelmingly gorgeous, flawed heroes, and heroines who find a well of strength deep within them, then I think I’ve got something for you. Stick around… visit my blog to see what I’m thinking about today, or find out more about me and my books as you browse. Â
It still feels very wintry, here in the north of England. Yes, the daffodils have bloomed, yes the blossom is starting to come out in hedgerows and woodland. But the wind is still chill, and the skies are too often a uniform grey…
Well, whatever the weather seems to be suggesting, it’s definitely spring, and I have my eyes firmly fixed on summer! Why? Well, four important things are happening for me this summer:-
- I’m attending the Romantic Novelists’ Association conference in Chichester at the beginning of July, where I’ll be delivering a workshop. My topic, “A Sense of Place - Using setting in your story,” is one that’s very close to my heart and my words. Our relationship with the space we’re in - room, town, landscape, country - has such a profound effect on how we feel. How can we ignore the impact of setting on our characters? I can’t wait to get stuck in to exploring this at the conference!
- At the end of July, I’ll be doing a joint talk with my good friend and critique partner Julie Cohen at a Library somewhere in Maine. Details are sketchy at present, not least because of my geographically challenged nature.
- I’m also attending the Romance Writers of America conference in San Francisco! Just a little bit more cosmopolitan and exotic than Chichester, eh? (No offence, Chichester!) This will be a very big deal for me, as I’ll be one of hundreds of romance authors signing books at the Literacy Autographing - my first time participating as an author!
Of course, items 2 and 3, I have recently worked out, will involve my taking six flights, and travelling in the region of 12,000 miles and spending something like 30 hours in the air. I think I’m going to need the rest of August to recover!
Now, what was that fourth important thing? Oh yes!!! In June, my first book, RUN AMONG THORNS will be released by Medallion Press. How could I have forgotten?Â
I’ve added a link to an excerpt for RUN AMONG THORNS. You can find it on my Books page, after the blurb.
Don’t forget to join my newsletter (look for the box in the sidebar) if you want to keep up with what’s happening in my writing world…
All the best, Anna
